153rd Pennsylvania Infantry Civil War Letter Theodore Harman. Condition is "Used".Great letter written Camp near Brooks Station Virginia January 28, 1863 by Theodore Harmon of the 153rd Pennsylvania Infantry.
He writes to his wife, they left Camp Stafford on the 20th and marched to Brooks Station. On guard duty to guard the railroad. Then got orders to March to Aquia Creek. Mr. Stotz came to camp with boxes of provisions. It is still snowing. Crawford and Stotz laid in bed all day. One man name Moyer got killed. He was crossing the railroad and cars came and throwed him from the track and killed instantly. They say he did not hear well . He had a wife and six children. They lost 9 men out of our regiment. Captain Rice letter stated Ed Fry was dead.
Theodore would pass away June 29, 1863. At a hospital in Washington. I show a copy of a photo of Theodore that is not included. This letter is transcribed.
