    1880 Large Mourning Cameo of Vulcanite Goth, "Ceres" w/ Wheat in Her Curls on 24" Black Jet Necklace w/ Venetian Wedding Cake Beads OOAK. One of a Kind. Ancient (Handmade irregular 150 yrs. ago) Black Jet Necklace w/ 1800s Venetian Wedding Cake Beads (Morano each OOAK)
    Here I added antique 1880 Vulcanite cameo to Handmade in 1880 Black Jet Wedding cake beaded 24" necklace (restrung on beading wire instead of broken string) . I used a (non removable), new gun metal converter to attach to necklace.
    The wedding cake beads are a type of lampwork bead of Murano glass. They look like little cakes with "icing" of swirls, dots, flowers and aventurine, which consists of metallic bits, usually copper, to give it sparkle.
    I am very Pleased to be able to offer such a rare lovely! A truly beautiful cameo featuring strong profile Beauty. This antique cameo itself if made of Vulcanite. Vulcanite of rubber & sulfur was Developed by Charles Goodyear (1800–1860) . This material can be molded when warm & cool becomes hard..
    This lovely cameo measures 2 1/4" x 1 5/8" x 1/2". Came with Wheat in hair is Ceres, or Demeter Goddess of the Harvest and Fertility. with Wheat Stalks in Her Hair. DEMETER (CERES) A Hellenic goddess of sowing, cultivating, harvesting and the birth – death-rebirth cycle, the second child of Cronus and Rhea .
