    Description

    This Antique Chinese Export Chest is a deaccessioned piece from a prominent museum.
    Floral painted leather exterior covering a camphorwood chest with decorative nail heads and brass bound edges.
    Sitting on a carved wood stand signed "A H Davenport Co"
    Lined interior with key.
    Very nice condition, some light wear with remnants off paper sticker on back and small area of separation of covering on back from brass edge. Please see pictures.
    Used in the early 1800's by sea captains , traders and others to carry trade goods out of China.
    This is a beautiful piece in great condition. Measures about 16 "H , 35 x 18,  without stand.
