I found this curious item in an estate clear out.  I believe that this is a "QUACK MEDICINE" device that was used for health and beauty purposes and was a plug in device that has electricity that shoots through the glass attachments.  This on has a slightly shabby box and original instructions and advertising of other devices but it does have a musty smell inside the box. From my best guest it looks to be 1920-30s era by the style of the women's hair. It claims to be used as a sedative, a stimulant, a tonic and has a beneficial heating effect.  It does work when plugged in but the strength was a bit sporadic.  The master plug in device is quite heavy and looks like a giant pencil and is about 11 inches long and 2-1/2" wide.  There are three attachments and 2 are glass  with metal at the end and the other is all metal.  If you collect medicine & quack items this may be up your alley! As the device is 80-100 years old I cannot guarantee it working up to its full potential but it will display nicely. Some of the hot pink areas on the paper work is slightly smudged and I see no breaks in the glass parts and the label on the main part is faded from use. As I said it deed seem to work when plugged in but  did not seem very strong. The overall size of the box  which is slightly shabby is 14 x 10 x 3"
