    Description

    An exquisite antique Victorian Whitby jet necklace from the later 1800's / early 1900's. This long delicate antique brass chain necklace is strung with hand-carved faceted black jet beads. The jet beads are actual jet stone (hard coal). Jet was extremely popular during the Victorian mourning era and remained popular into the early 1900's. Hand-carved jet is the most highly prized and these jet beads have lovely, naturally varied hand cuts. A true work of art!
