    Description

    Civil War Confederate South Carolina 7th Regt. SCV Envelope / Cover with Handstamp - From C. J. Butler, Co. A, 7th SCV to Mrs. Pierce M. Butler, Edgefield C.H., So. Ca. Mailed from Richmond, Virginia. Not sure of the date in the stamp, but May 8th is written on the edge of the envelope, possibly 1862. There is a Due 5 stamped under the return address. Former owner signed his name on back of envelope. Condition is average considering it is 159 years old.
