Mahan, Assessor Tax in Kind, Stonewall, Lauderdale Co., Miss. for official business. Ten cent stamp on cover. Reverse cover is mailed to Major James Hamilton, Controlling ___ Columbus, Miss. from Oxford, Miss. on September 21, 1864, Paid 10 (cents), also for official business. Excellent condition for 157 years old. Previous owner has made notes on back of envelope flap.
