    DESCRIPTION:
    Glamorous celluloid hair comb made in the iconic fan shape, in which lines or blades radiate out from the base of the heading. In this example the comb base is black celluloid with a heading in translucent amber with blue and green crystals at top of rounded rays.
    This fan shape design is typical of many combs of the period, with radiating lines or panels resembling sun rays.
    Such large fan shaped combs became extremely fashionable in Britain and America.
    They were worn in a characteristic manner, being placed in the side or back of the hairdressing at an acute angle, and in such a way that the tall heading stood up proud.
