    Description

I'm moving out of the country and selling a lot of my things.
I lived in Asia for 9 years and dealt in and collected only: rare, asian antiques, with a specialty in Chinese.
A gift to me from Pierre Chen, a Taiwanese executive and fine art collector.
This is an incredibly rare, Late 19thC Qing Guangxu Era Qiangjin & Tianqi Dragons Lacquer Chest.
He was told, Imperial. (Made for a member of the imperial family)
Lacquer has chipped in very small area as pictured.
Normal wear for a piece of this age.
The beauty and workmanship of this piece speaks for itself.
What makes this piece so rare and special besides the fact that it is very likely imperial:
it was NOT at all common for a piece to be this ornately painted, then lacquered.
We had both never seen a painted chest this striking, or well done, ever.
In the pictures of the front of this chest, if you look closely, you can see what were black dirt spots here and there..it was professionally cleaned and is now clean/perfect.
Dimensions: Width: 13 inches, Height: 14 inches, Length 22 inches.
