    Description

    Antique Victorian Waspie Belt Corset. 1000's of Beads. 125 Years Old. OOAK, Whale Bone Corset. Reinforced by Me. Just Beautiful! Wear w/ Jeans or Dress. I have many Mourning Cameos Available; if you wish to replace center bead with one; I will only charge you for the black cameo not labor.

    Measures 28" long & 6 1/2" at tallest.
    This is small & made for a tiny corseted Victorian waist. My daughter, the model here, has a 28" waist & could not get all the snaps to snap.
    So I have made 3 options:
    1. waspie belt as is. 9.90
    2. Waspie belt with new 6" tall Wide Elastic belt under original now 27" to 30" with additional Velcro on new belt to go smaller is 8.90
    3. Waspie belt with New 6" tall Wide Elastic belt under original 30" to 36" 5.90   I have purchased a new 6" tall Waspie Elastic belt as seen in last picture. I will put thin black elastic straps on back of Antique Waspie belt to slide over new waspie belt with tie so larger than originally made waste of today can wear it.
    This beautiful Museum Quality Example of Victorian Bead Art is over 125 years old! It is not new & mint! I added black satin bias strips to back top & bottom & sides of back to reinforce it strength. This beauty was all sewn by hand on several layers of black chiffon with 20 40" swag hanging beads horizontally & 7 rows of various beads vertically. Plus 4 extremely detailed black beaded appliques! 20 some different kinds of Victorian Black Jet glass beads! Most of beads are handmade at that time, irregular very glint & shiny. The whole belt is freeform and asymmetrical. I spent 15 hours reinforcing & resewing anything that could possibly need it. After that work, I came to the conclusion it must have taken original artist at least 100 hours to create. She did not have the 2 1/2" less than a millimeter steel beading needles, 120 watt non flickering light, 16 X magnification glasses, strong black thin beading thread perfected and today's precision calibrated smooth uniform beads!
