Vintage No. 4 DD Home Medical Apparatus - Early 1900s - Medical Quackery Device

$ 18.45

Description

The No. 4 D.D. Home Medical Apparatus was used by physicians to treat a wide variety of diseases in the late 1800's - early 1900's by delivering a calibrated electric shock to the patient. It's now widely considered to be a vintage medical quackery device.
The wood box has metal hinges and hooks and comes with two compartments. The top holds the operating instructions, electrodes, handles, cords and foam pads. The pads are dried out and the cords have separated from the handles. The bottom holds a dry cell battery as well as the controls to administer the shock. I believe the battery is inside the chrome tube (photo 4).
The box measures about 8 3/4" wide x 5 1/4" deep x 4 3/4" high and is in good condition for its age (photos 6-11).
This vintage device has not been tested and is sold "as is". No returns. All items as shown in the photos are included in the auction however I don't know if there are parts of the machine that are missing.
Please review the photos &
ask any questions before bidding. No international shipping. Thanks for looking.
